Anna Mae Buster

Anna Mae “Annie” Buster Anna Mae “Annie” Buster was born May 1, 1924 to A. Dolphus and Dona Fletcher Goodman in Ogden, Arkansas. She entered Heaven on April 3, 2019 after passing away at Hospice of Texarkana in Texarkana, TX. Annie lived a life filled with love and grace. Annie devoted her life to her family and her community, working to make it a place everyone would want to live. Annie joined the First United Methodist Church in Ogden in August 1934 where she played piano for more than 60 years. A 1942 graduate of Ashdown High School, Annie was a life-long Panther fan and required each child and grandchild to know the words to the Ashdown Alma Mater. She worked at Lawyers Title for 65 years, retiring in 2008. She served as the Recorder-Treasurer of the City of Ogden, AR for 52 years, then as Council Member for eight years. In addition, she served as a volunteer for the Little River County Museum. Though Annie loved her community and those in it, nothing was more important to her than family. She was married to her love of her life William Doyle Buster for 26 years before his death. They were parents to and she was survived by Gary and wife Patricia of Ashdown, AR and Alan Buster of Ogden, AR and adored by grandchildren Jeremy and wife Melissa Buster of Ogden, AR, Tara Zwermann and husband Nicholas and Heather Buster, all of Ashdown, AR and five Great Grandchildren as well as six nephews and one niece. Also considered family were life-long friends the Cobb, Morrison, Furlow, and Ward families. Annie had many adopted children and grandchildren who hung out at her house for a Popsicle and Coke, baked countless pecan pies for all family and friends, and believed you never bought eggs on sale. She never missed a grandkids football, baseball, band concert, or dance recital. She loved every holiday, especially Halloween. Her life motto was to always be kind and always, always give to those who are less fortunate. Her lessons have carried on through her family as many of her family members now work to help those who cannot help themselves. Most importantly, she always made sure to tell her children and grandchildren how much she loved them and how proud of them each time a goodbye was said. Annie is predeceased by her mother and father, her husband William Buster, her brother, R.C. Goodman, one nephew, Wyndal Goodman and a number of other friends and relatives. The Family will receive visitors at visitation on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 3-5 pm at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR. Funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2pm at Madden Funeral Home with graveside services at Ashdown Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First United Methodist Church in Ogden, AR. Arrangements handled by Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.
