Jacob Thomas Cody, of Ashdown, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Jacob was born on December 9, 1982, in New Boston, Texas, to his mother, Lissa Renee Cody. He spent his early years in Nash, Texas, where he grew up and built lifelong memories. In 2010, Jacob made Ashdown, Arkansas is home, where he began a career as a Dietary Aide at Pleasant Manor Nursing and Rehab. He dedicated many years of service there, forming meaningful connections and leaving a lasting impression on residents and coworkers alike. Jacob was a devoted and loving husband to Kurt Jones. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was a proud and caring father to Emiley Del Angel (Dion Del Angel) and Tylor Jones, and a joyful grandfather to Santiago Del Angel and Viviana Del Angel. Jacob was truly the heart of his family – a source of strength, guidance and unconditional love. He had a gift for bringing people together, and his presence at holidays and celebrations filled every room with warmth and happiness. He was always there with a kind word, a listening ear, or a joke that could make anyone smile. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Jacob loved crafting and decorating and shopping was one of his favorite pastimes – especially when it comes to purses, as he always believed you could never have too many. His vibrant personality, heart of gold, and infectious sense of humor made him unforgettable to all who knew him. Jacob is survived by his loving husband, Kurt Jones; his children, Emiley Del Angel (Dion Del Angel) and Tylor Jones; his cherished grandchildren, Santiago Del Angel and Viviana Del Angel; his siblings, Allison Reed and Kory Reed; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who became family and will miss him deeply. A funeral service to celebrate Jacob’s life will be held at a later date at Central Baptist Church in Ashdown, Arkansas. Family and Friends will be invited to attend and honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Farmers Bank account ending in 9490 to assist with service expenses. “You are now wild and free. You will be missed dearly and live on forever in our hearts.”
