Jerrie Alena Walker

Jerrie Alena Wilson Walker peacefully departed her loving family and friends on June 1, 2021 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Jerrie was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on March 18, 1939 to Winston and Lucy Faye Wilson. Jerrie was the mother to Vanessa and Stephanie, she raised her children with much love and devotion in Ashdown, AR. She was an avid seamstress while her children and nieces were growing up. She spent many hours making them wonderful clothing, costumes, formals and uniforms just to name a few. After her girls were grown and graduated school, Jerrie went to work for EZ-Mart in Texarkana. She was a devoted employee and thoroughly enjoyed reporting to work every day she was physically able to for 35 years. Over the years, she made numerous loving friendships; her smiles and hugs were contagious and cherished by all. She is survived by her children Vanessa Walker of Ashdown, AR and Stephanie and Danny Engledowl of Hot Springs, AR. Four grandchildren Jerrie cherished were Jeremy and Samantha McBride of Hope,AR, Nathan Brooks of Colorado Springs, CO, Bethanie and Cody Savoy of Magnolia, AR and Tracee and Austin Thrash of Ashdown, AR. A sister, FaEllen Yates of Texarkana, TX, one brother and sister-in-law, James and Bonnie Wilson of Texarkana, TX. She was also blessed to have six wonderful great grandchildren, Drake, Cameron, Heidi, Ayden, Alena and Walker all of whom will miss her dearly. Jerrie will be at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown for friends and family for a come and go visitation on Thursday, June 3, 2021 to say their goodbyes from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, June 4 2021. Ronnie (Shorty) Smith will be officiating. The Family would like to thank the staff at Gratitude of Hearts Elderly Care and Hospice Home Care of Hot Springs for all the loving care shown to Jerrie as she journeyed to the end of her life here on earth.
