Peggy Sue Trammell Davis

Peggy Sue Trammell Davis, 91, of Ashdown, AR, entered into God’s Kingdom on May 20, 2023. She was born May 27, 1931 to Isaac and Oletta (Fawcett) Trammell. Peggy, the most loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother is survived by her son Tracy Davis and his wife, DeInda, her only granddaughter, Devin Jennings and her husband, Aaron, and her younger brother, Michael Trammell and his wife, Karen. Born in Wallace, AR, her family soon moved to nearby Ashdown, where she married the love of her life, Donald Davis, and became a devoted wife and mother. She briefly studied cosmetology and became a popular beautician in Ashdown and also worked as a cashier in a local Ashdown grocery store to make ends meet for her family. Peggy enjoyed working in her yard, cooking meals from scratch and loved taking care of her only granddaughter. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Ashdown. Her focus in life was being a good Christian woman and caregiver and she devoted her life to her husband and her very large extended family of nieces and nephews. She loved her family. The family took yearly vacations together, spent holidays together and made many memories that were never forgotten. “Aunt Peggy” made the best enchiladas and the family always reminded her when it was time for a batch and a family gathering. She never lost faith in Jesus, even after losing her husband in 2010 and entering the nursing home in 2012. It is worth mentioning that before entering the nursing home, Peggy was always looked after by her two surviving brothers-in-law, Odean Davis and Phillip Penny, devoted husbands to her two sisters, who lived close by, always keeping a watchful eye on her. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Oletta Trammell, her loving husband of 65 years, Donald Davis, her older brother, Charles Trammell and his wife, Dorothy and two sisters, Dean Davis and Connie Penny, all of Ashdown. A visitation service will take place a 1:00 on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, followed by graveside service at 3:00 at Marvin Cemetery in Foreman officiated by Bro. Jim Cross.
