Vernon Buddy Tabler

Vernon Polis (Buddy) Tabler March 23, 1931-December 21, 2015 Vernon Tabler, age 84, passed from this earthly life into his heavenly life on Monday, December 21, 2015. He was born to Samuel Cecil Tabler and Mary Alice Jeffers Tabler on March 23, 1931, and lived most of his life in Wrights Chapel community, his birthplace near Ben Lomond, Arkansas. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ben Lomond. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Doyal Tabler, Hal Tabler, and Dimma Tabler, his wife, Berniece Cooper Tabler, and one son and daughter -in-law,Sammy Don Tabler and wife Susan. He is survived by three children, Sandra Tabler Thompson and husband, Daryl, Beverly Tabler Robinson and husband Tom, all of Texarkana Texas, and Gary Vernon Tabler and wife Rosalie of Brownstown, Arkansas; his Grandchildren, Jerry Don Tabler, Michael Paul Tabler, Dr, D'Andra Thompson Bingham, John Bryan Thompson, and wife Jenny, Justin Ryan Thompson, and wife Nicole, Joshua Bradley Tabler, and wife Julie, Mark Nevin Tabler, and Katheryn Anne Robinson, his great grandchildren, Josh Tabler, Brock, Reid, and Quinn Bingham, Madi and Landon Tabler. and Ben Thompson. He is also survived by one brother, Cecil Tabler, Jr, and wife Ethel, of the Hicks community, three sisters, Mittie Hinsley of Canton Texas, Shirley Musgrove, and husband Charles of Desoto, Texas, Winnie Hunter of Shrevesport , Louisiana, one sister-in-law, Betty Smith of the Hicks Community, and many nieces nephews, and friends. Buddy was a devoted cattle and horse rancher, who was able to spend his retirement years in that capacity after working for Braswell Sand and Gravel as a Manitowoc dragline operator for thirty plus years. All his "horse friends"" knew him as one who enjoyed sharing his wealth of knowledge of the lineage of each horse he owned, as well as all those he wished to own. He experienced many fulfilling days enjoying his land, working his cattle, and breeding and growing horses. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 26, 2015, 2:00 p.m., Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, Arkansas. Internment will be at Wrights Chapel Cemetary. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 23, 6-8p.m. at the funeral home. Family will gather at the home of Daryl and Sandra Thompson, 8 Forsyth Circle, Texarkana ,Texas, at 12:00 noon prior to the funeral services.
