April 19, 1971 - January 11, 2019
Kelly Sue Cornelius Fisher–aka, “Kel Fisher” with open arms, the Lord called her home. A good and faithful servant who fought a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer. Kelly Sue Cornelius (Fisher) passed this life on January 11, 2019 in Christus St. Michael under the care of Dierksen Hospice. Kelly was born in Hope, AR on April 19, 1971 and lived her entire life in Little River County. She graduated from Ashdown High School in 1989. One of her first jobs was at Laverne’s House of Flowers where she found her love of fresh flowers. From there she went into banking and later became a well-known name with everyone at Service Painting of Ashdown which later became The Brock Group. She made several life-long friends there as well as long distance friends from the Monroe, Beaumont and Valiant branches. She enjoyed times with friends and family. Kelly was a simple, country girl at heart who loved gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and working in her yard. She was also a sophisticated lady with style. She loved shopping and keeping up with the current trends. She gave of herself often and loved unconditionally. More than anything Kelly loved the Lord and she shared this with everyone, as well as all her little ones in Sunday School. She always told how grateful she was to have such Christian parents with a long history of Christian values. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, Sam and Mildred Cornelius, maternal grandparents, Proby and Dolores Ralls, nephew, J.T. Redfearn and her unborn baby. She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters Ashley Nicole Grimes and Kelsey Taylor Grimes, parents, Tommy and Jean Cornelius; sisters, Cathy (Bret) McMahen and T.J. (Bobby) Walraven, nephews Cord McMahen and Robby Walraven, nieces, Maci McMahen, Kayli Robison and Caitlin Hunt. The love of her life, Herald DeVaughn Fisher, aka, “Tigger”, his sons Kane and Kent and daughter, Kalli, and a grandson, Connar and the “twinkle in her eye” - granddaughter Kinley, her “tree of life” travelers, Marcia Dansby Austin, Amanda Thomas and Cheri Nash. She also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, including special cousin, Joey Cornelius, who was more like a brother to her, and his loving wife Carrie. Visitation is Monday, January 14, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be Tuesday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m., both at Madden Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens under the direction of Madden Funeral Home and officiated by Brother Bobby Fischer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or The American Cancer Society. The family will be at the home of Tommy & Jean Cornelius, 109 LR 229, Ashdown, AR.
