Margie Dean Ward

October 4, 1943 - March 28, 2021

On March 28, 2021 our mother Margie Dean Ward went to be with the Lord. Margie was 77 years old as she was born on October 4, 1943 in Winthrop, AR. She is preceded in death by her husband Doyal Ray Ward Sr, parents Wilburn and Mary Baker and two brothers Jimmy and Bruce Baker. Margie is survived by her four children; two daughters and sons-in-law Lisa and Jerry Smith and Sonja and Elden Manning; two sons and daughters-in-law Doyal and Marnie Ward and Tad and Samantha Ward. Other survivors are her brother and sister-in-law Billy and Nita Baker. Margie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Ogden, Arkansas. She truly knew and loved the Lord. She was a wonderful cook and very talented seamstress. For those that knew her, you knew one of her great joys was cooking – and if you entered her home at dinnertime, she would not let you leave without eating one of her great meals and wonderful desserts! You never had to question where you stood with Margie. Her pride and joy were her children and her grandchildren that she loved beyond words. She had 13 grandchildren; JD, Katie, Whitney and Kris Smith; Doyal and Dillion Ward; Kyle, Brennan and Wyatt Manning; Bryar and Brinlee Ward and Josie and Leena Bull. She had 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have good friends that looked after her. Scottie Turner never went a day without stopping and putting her newspaper at her door. Doug and Lori Morton were just like her kids. Her lifelong best friends were Carolyn Johnson, Nancy Lewis and Shelia Yarberry. Margie will forever be remembered as a strong-willed woman, wonderful mother, loving grandmother and most importantly - a child of God. Graveside services will be Thursday, April 1 at 2 pm at Ashdown Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside Doyal. Officiating will be Herman Welch and Todd Reed.
