Michael Wayne Dixon

October 25, 1957 - May 10, 2019

Michael Wayne Dixon, 61, was born October 25, 1957 in Foreman, AR. He departed this life on May 10, 2019. He united with the St. Matthew Baptist Church at an early age and was the teacher of class #2. Michael was a trailblazer. He was one on the first African-American children in Foreman to integrate Foreman Public Schools in 1966 and later graduated in the Class of 1977. After graduation, Michael joined the United States Air Force. After completing 4 years of service, he was awarded an Honorable discharge. Michael returned home to hunt and fish. He worked for Foreman Public School District for many years in the following capacities: school bus driver, substitute teacher, maintenance crew, Pee Wee Coach (football, basketball). Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses Dixon and one brother, Ronald Charles Dixon. He leaves to cherish his memories, mother, Helen M. Dixon, brothers, Kenneth Dixon of Foreman, AR, Eugene Dixon (Royce) of Vernon, TX, William Dixon (Paula) of Englewood, Fl, sisters, Sheri Collins (WH) of Foreman, AR, Jacqueline Wiseman (Troy) of Foreman, AR, Barbara Ware (Mitch) of Texarkana, AR, Constance Stitt (Robert) of Newport Richey, FL, bonus brothers, Stanley Dixon of Chicago, IL, Anthony Dixon, Sr. (Terry) of Rex, GA, special brother, Robert Easter of Foreman, AR, aunt, Wilma Dixon of Texarkana, AR, 15 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 am at Oscar Hamilton Elementary Gym in Foreman, AR. In lieu of flowers, family request that all donations be made to Foreman Youth Sports Association.
