Nancy Deering Brown

Nancy Irene Deering Brown, 68, gained her ever deserving angel wings on August 31st, 2020. She was born in Arkadelphia on August 27th, 1952, to Harold and Mary Katherine (Kat) Deering. Nancy spent most of her childhood in Amity, Arkansas, until they moved to Ashdown in 1965. She graduated from Ashdown High School in 1970. After high school, she attended and graduated from Cosmetology school at Texarkana College. She worked at the Magic Comb in Ashdown until 1975. In 1980 she found her true calling as a preschool teacher at PDS with her older sister Kathy. During her 21 years at PDS, Mrs. Nancy cuddled, loved, taught, and rocked numerous children. She had such a profound effect on so many children in her community. There was nothing Mrs. Nancy and her big wooden rocking chair couldn’t fix. On December 25th, 1970, she married the love of her life, Danny W. Brown. Together they had two children, Tim Brown and Molly Brown Corbell. She was a wonderful loving wife, momma, best friend, advisor, supporter and peace keeper. She was most proud of her children but her pride and joy were her 3 grandchildren; Brennan Brown, Bradee McKean, and Brody Corbell. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. She had a special bond with each and every one of them that was truly unexplainable. She taught them all what was really important in life – to love, support, and care for family and friends. Nancy had two beloved sisters, Kathy Jeans and Becky Aylett, with whom she shared a unique and special bond that made them truly inseparable; nothing came between the Deering girls. They laughed, loved, and supported each other to no end. Nancy’s motherly role did not just include her own children but continued by caring for and helping to raise her very special nieces and nephews. She was survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Danny W. Brown; two children, Tim Brown and wife Susie, and Molly Brown Corbell and husband Michael; three grandchildren Brennan Brown, Bradee McKean, and Brody Corbell; two sisters, Kathy Jeans and husband Claude, Becky Aylett and husband Alan, all of Ashdown AR. And a host of very special nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great- nephews. We are all better for knowing this amazing selfless woman and it was a great privilege to be part of her life. She gave so much and asked for so little in return. We thank her for always being there for us, for teaching us, listening to us, helping and forgiving us, and always paving the way for us. She was simply magnificent! Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
