Coleta Overstreet McGraw

Coleta Overstreet McGraw was born August 21 , 1933 in Falls Chapel, AR to the late Jesse James Overstreet and Beatrice Elizabeth Booth Overstreet. She ran into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Pleasant Manor Nursing and Rehab in Ashdown, Ar. Coleta attended the Ashdown Assembly of God church for many years where she faithfully served in many capacities. During that time, she was also known to open her home to many pastors, youth pastors and their families. Her home was a fun place to gather for many members of the church for meals or to just visit. Her children's friends were also welcome to come and did on so many occasions. Coleta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was also known as a surrogate mother, grandma and sister to many people that crossed her path. She and her husband Frank were well known for their giving and helping hand. Their special ministry was giving rides to those who needed a ride to church. There seemed to always be someone extra squeezed in their car among their family just about every time the church doors were open. Coleta was the 3rd child and oldest daughter of ten children. Her brothers and sisters always knew they had a place in her home and were often found there playing a rousing hand of dominoes or cards, often late into the night. There were holidays celebrated, vacations and meals prepared with Coleta making sure everything was just right. Coleta was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was lovingly called Keta by many of them. She loved them all as only an aunt could and was so loved by all of them. There were many times when there would be one or two that would be tucked in bed right along with her own children, it was such a natural thing and she treated them as if they were her own. One of her favorite roles was being Grandma. She was happiest when she was able to spoil them and do special things with them. Her grandkids were her heart and when the great grandkids came along, her heart became even fuller. She covered them with prayer and thought of them daily. Coleta was mother to 5 children. She and Frank did their best to teach them and raise them in a Godly home. Her children were so special to her and her greatest desire was for her children to be happy and to always love Jesus. It was always special when her kids would come home after they were grown and living on their own. She welcomed each spouse of her children and treated them as her own. Coleta was married to her husband Frank for 71 years. During that time, they were faced with many trials and hard times but their love stood strong because of their devotion to each other and their strong relationship with Jesus. Although their love might have been tested, it persevered with prayer and determination and an understanding of each other that only they could have. Coleta was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Harold, Ray and Lonnie Overstreet, 2 sisters, Rosalea Wiedner and Barbara Kauses. She is survived by her husband Francis "Frank" McGraw of Ashdown, Ar, 3 sons, James McGraw of Ashdown, Jerry (Jan) McGraw of Haughton La, Fred (Becky) McGraw of Ashdown, 2 daughters Margaret (Parks) McCormick of Haughton La, Renee (Jim) Lucas of Ashdown, 7 grandkids, Nikki (Wade) Wilson of Haughton La, Jordan (Tyra) McCormick of Bossier City La, Shane McGraw of Shreveport La, Allen McGraw of Colorado Springs, Co, Andrea (Ryan) Whitlow of Foreman, Ar, Megan (Thomas) Shaddix of Ashdown, Jamie (Charli) Lucas of Ashdown and 10 great grandkids, 2 brothers, Don Overstreet of Ashdown, Johnny (Becky) Overstreet of Ashdown, 2 sisters, Ruth (Dwight) Clift of Ashdown, Pat (Larry) Miller of Foreman, Ar, and many special nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Pleasant Manor Nursing Home and Rehab. The care and love shown to Coleta and her family was so special and appreciated. To Dierksen Hospice, you are a true blessing and the love and care for the family will always be remembered as a true testament to the hands of Jesus. A graveside service will be on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 10:00 at Gravelly Cemetery in Foreman, AR with Ray Cromer and Maxine Sumner officiating. Funeral services are under the care of Madden Funeral Home and the family appreciates their help and service during this difficult time.
