Lucinda House

Lucinda House entered God's loving arms on February 1, 2014 at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 25 days. Lucinda was the wife of James Ervin House. They were married on August 20, 1938 and celebrated 63 years of marriage. He preceded her in death (Sept. 2001). Lucinda was born in Richmond, Arkansas on November 7, 1924 to William Clark and Cordelia Ellen (Taylor) Sanders. A sister, Fannie(Leroy) Chaffin of Powderly, Texas survives. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in her death. Children who survive include: Rose Ellen Altenbaumer (Bill Altenbaumer-deceased) Ashdown, AR, William Ervin House (Shirley Hill) Ogden, AR, Charles Ervin House(Dena Bivins)Ashdown,AR, Phyllis Copp (James D.) Ashdown, AR & South Africa, Martha Klingele (Lynn) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Sherry McBurnett (Steve) Ashdown, AR. two other sons died in infancy. Affectionately known as Granny House, she was also loved by all who knew her, especially her 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives, and her many friends in Ashdown and surrounds. Needless to say, she will be greatly missed. Grandchildren include,Tracy (Laurie) Altenbaumer, Sheila (Randall)Wheeler, Max (Jessica)Altenbaumer, Jeremy (Kim) House, Kelly (Melody) Altenbaumer, Carmen Copp, Gary (Ashley) Upton, Kimberly (Kevin) Befeld, James Christian (Katrina) Copp, Keith (Jessica) Upton, Kristi (Tim) Lovewell, Eric House. 25 Great grandchildren, Ali Gail Altenbaumer, Reese Ervin Altenbaumer, Amy Rose Altenbaumer, Megan & Regan Altenbaumer, Coy Altenbaumer, Sage Altenbaumer,Rye Altenbaumer, Tiffany (Brice)Gray, Jacob William House, Victoria and Alexis House, Damien Befeld, Caleb Befeld, Lauren Lovewell, Sarah Fenter, Rachel Fenter, Brendan Copp, Dawson Copp, Ethanie Copp, Caelum Copp, McKenna Upton, Riley Upton, Keifer Upton, and Wynter Rose Upton. Not only was she a loving mother and blessed housewife, for a good number of years she did child care from her home, She immensely enjoyed gardening as well as preserving the produce she raised. Sewing and Quilting was an enjoyable pass-time. Even as her eyes began to lose strength, her hands were busy making quilt patterns. Most importantly and perhaps best of all, Granny House loved and served her Lord and attended church faithfully. She and her late husband were founders and longtime faithful members of First Pentecostal of God in Ashdown. Lucinda served as the first secretary and held that position for several years. Visitation will be Friday February 7, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home in the Chapel. Funeral Services will be Saturday February 8, 2014 at 10:00 am at Madden Funeral Home in the Chapel in Ashdown, AR with Rev. Millard Huett and Rev. Maxine Sumner officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR.
