Willed Dellinger

Willed Dellinger, age 73, passed away on March 11th, 2025, at a local hospital with his family by his side. He was born on August 5th, 1951, in Texarkana, TX to Orus Dellinger and Alice May Dellinger-Hubbard. Willed met the love of his life, Linda, while riding down Hicks Road in the back of a hay truck. It was love at first sight. He married her soon after on October 10th, 1969. In their 55 years together, they were blessed with three beautiful children, eight grandchildren, two great grandsons, and a host of special friends. He worked as a truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sitting around the campfire at deer camp. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch with Linda drinking coffee. He loved going to church. He enjoyed his collection of guns and knives. In his younger days, he enjoyed singing and some would even compare him to Elvis Presley. He was often outside working daylight till dark. He spent most of his days riding his side by side, checking the cows, and snuggled up with his dog, Maggie. But, most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He could talk about his kids for hours. Willed was strong-willed and at times hard-headed. He truly had a heart of gold. He enjoyed picking on his kids and grandkids. He was not afraid to tell you what he thought, but that was one of the things we loved most about him. He enjoyed cutting up. His loving spirit and funny stories will forever remain in our hearts. He will always be remembered for being a loving husband, Daddy, Pawpaw and friend. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Orus Dellinger and Alice May Hubbard, brothers David Dellinger, Buster Verle, and DD Dellinger, and sister, Coralee Hoover. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, sister Ruby Sue Booth of Wilton, AR, and his children, Adam (Jennifer) Dellinger of Ashdown, Alice-Ann (Carl) Tomlinson of Ashdown, Will Dellinger Jr. (Norma) of McAlester, OK. He is survived by his grandchildren, Haylee (Caleb) Roberson of McAlester, OK, Jake (Skylar) Dellinger of McAlester, OK, Linsey Dellinger of McAlester, OK, Hunter Tomlinson of Ashdown, Colby (Leigha) Dellinger of Ashdown, Logan Tomlinson of Ashdown, Cori Dellinger of Ashdown, and Cooper Tomlinson of Ashdown. He is also survived by two great grandsons, Joseph Michael Roberson and John Ed Dellinger of McAlester, OK. He is also survived by 3 special aunts, Betty Sue Smith of Ashdown, Emma Hill of Arcadia, OK, Bessie Cooper of El Dorado, AR and one special friend, Donelle Kilgore of Ashdown. Visitation will be held at Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, AR on Friday, March 14th, 2025, from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at 3 o’clock at Hicks Baptist Church with Jimmy Woods and Bobby Fischer officiating. A graveside service will follow at Hicks Road Cemetery.
